Number Recognition – Preschool math activity
Few days ago I had posted a simple preschool math activity. Here is a number recognition activity for preschoolers. Our 34 months old loved playing this simple game.
Game rule: For every number card that I give
- Skandhu should recognize the number
- read it loud
- count corresponding number of marbles
- and place it near the number card.
Aim: Number recognition and learning to count.
I am linking this post to Montessori Monday activities.

This is a simple and inexpensive counting activity for young children—and, fun like a game! We like to do counting games like this here too! ~heather
I love the simplicity of this … and I always enjoy activities with glass gems/marbles! Thanks so much for linking up with Montessori Monday. I featured your post at the Living Montessori Now Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/LivingMontessoriNow
Great activity! It is so important for the kids to visualize what the numbers’ true value is. Thanks for sharing at Mom’s Library!
