Skandhu’s First steps at nine months!!!
Skandhu is nine months old now He has reached his new milestone… yes Skandhu has started to walk! He pulls himself to stand without holding anything, stretches his hands and walks without support!!
July 4: (8 months 20 days old) Skandhu took 4 continuous steps.
July 12: (8 months 28 days old) Improved his balance and took 6 continuous steps.
July 15: (9 months 1 day old) More concentration and balance! 8 continuous steps and this is increasing every day
Skandhu climbs up and down the stairs with great ease. Babies would love to climb the stairs but some would not know to come down. Skandhu carefully climbs down too. He has figured out that he first needs to keep his toes down and then pull rest of his body to come down without falling!
Skandhu’s naughtiness has no limits. Look at our guy sitting on the diaper box
Guess our Kitchen raider is bored of playing with oven, cabinets, dining table and trash can. He has started his research on the dishwasher As I was loading the dishwasher, Skandhu climbed over and sat on it. But he didn’t know how to come down. He started to whine to get our attention. We encouraged him to get down by himself. We kept cheering him and saying “Yes you can do it” “Yup that’s it… you got it right”. Within no time our little cub found the way to get down without getting hurt and laughed happily to show his victory
Both of us (mainly his dad) feel that we need to allow the kids to explore the world around them. Allow them to face and fight challenges. Encourage them to do things by themselves and help them when there is an absolute need! Though this strategy of ours drains our energy and time we still feel happy that we are building the confidence and will power in our dear son
Skandhu loves to play with the ball. He started to chase ball at around 5.5 months (when he first crawled). We have at least one ball in every floor! Both daddy and son play soccer At times I wonder whether this is our living room or a play ground?! Skandhu loves to run behind the ball and put the goal. Wait… where is the goal post?? Oh!! the chair is their goal post Look how our little soccer player is coming out of the goal post after a successful goal
Fun in the sun 3: We have enrolled Skandhu in a summer class that our community offers. It is called “Baby Gym”. There are lots of baby play items that helps to develop the gross motor activities in babies. Sliders, swings, see-saw,tunnels (to crawl) and much more. A nice opportunity to socialize with other babies This has nothing to do with outdoors. This is an indoor play place.
Fun in the sun 4: We went to a couple of forest preserves for long walk. The smallest trail itself was around 2 miles! We showed the dense trees, flowers, birds and the lake to our LO. Skandhu was looking around for sometime and then he quietly dozed off. Refreshing walk for the zombied parents
