Making a flower vase – fine motor activity

First of all let me you tell you that we did this activity way back in summer. Our preschooler made this beautiful flower vase for his teachers and we gifted them on first day of the school! His teachers were pretty excited and happy to receive the flower vase :)

Though we had used our flower vase as Teachers gift for the first school day, this also makes a perfect Christmas gift.

Materials required:

Glass vase
2 rubber band
Pens/pencils
Flowers
and candies (optional)

Apart from the candies I got the rest from dollar tree. So the whole gift can be made in less then $5.

Step 1: Wrap 2 rubber band around the flower vase. (if needed an adult can help with this)

Step 2: Insert the pens (or pencils) .  The child would stretch the rubber band to insert the pen. This activity strengthens finger muscles.

Step 4: Let your kid arrange the flowers. Flower arranging, a fine motor skill.
